About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for an air compressor procurement, providing critical technical specifications and installation details. The requirements include 50HP and 100HP motor units with specific electrical requirements (3-Phase, Max VDC 250v, Max VAC 600v), a maximum pressure of 135 psi, and an inside storage location. The 50HP units require air dryers, while the 100HP units already have an air dryer installed. The contractor is responsible for removing the existing compressor, including potential palletization, and performing all electrical/pneumatic/accessory connections without modifying the current hangar infrastructure. Additional key details include no need for extra air filtration (as filters are included with the compressor), no explosive gases present in the area, and no forklift or personnel will be available to assist with moving the compressor.

Question Answer What is the required maximum pressure needed for each of the air compressors?
135 psi.
Is it an inside or outside location where the existing compressor will be stored?
Inside location.
Is the vendor responsible to make the existing compressor storage ready?
The contractor should perform all aspects of removing the unit, including packing it up as required.
Is the vendor responsible to shrink wrap, palletize, etc. the old units?
If the old unit requires palletization, yes.
Does the 50HP motor units need air dryers? If so, what type? (Refrigerated Air Dryer, Desiccant Dryer, Membrane)
Yes.
Does the 100HP motor units need air dryers? If so, what type? (Refrigerated Air Dryer, Desiccant Dryer, Membrane)
No, there is already an air dryer installed.
Is any type of air filtration needed between the compressor and building (particulate, condensate, oil)?
No, the compressors should be quoted with air filters as part of the unit.
What voltage and phase do these compressors need to be?
3-Phase, Max VDC 250v, Max VAC 600v.
Do the 400 Gallon Receivers need to have an auto drain installed? If so, does auto drain need to be manual or electric?
400-gallon receiver is not required.
Currently already installed. Receiver removed from revised Statement of Work.
If an auto drain is installed for the receiver, will an oil/water separator need to be added to catch wastewater/oil from the tank?
N/A, see above answer.
Is the Inlet Air Filter a filtering system in addition to the filters factory installed on the compressor/enclosure?
See above about additional filtration. The inlet air filters should be included in quotes itemized as sub-components of the compressor.
XE-70 Controller does not control the oil water separator, please clarify.
New XE-70 Controller is being requested.
Revised in statement of work.
It is not possible to hook to existing facility points without modification if the compressor has to be installed in the exact same location with the addition of a 400 gallon receiver. Please provide additional clarification.
This should be cleared up by not requiring the install of a new/additional receiver tank. The intent of this note is that the contractor will perform all the required electrical/pneumatic/accessory connections without modification of the current hangar infrastructure.
Are there any explosive gases present around the air compressor?
No.
Will there be a forklift and personnel available to move the compressor in and out of its location with the base?
No.
