Questions and Answers in Response to Solicitation FA500024Q0021
Question 1: What is the System Site Address?
Answer: BLDG 9696 Vandenberg Ave, JBER 99506.
Question 2: What will be the points of contact after contract award?
Answer: Contracting Specialist SrA Felix A. Prose (907-552-5870) and Contracting Officer Daniel P. Swoyer (907-552-5587). Site Points-of-Contact will be SSgt Forrest Edwards (907- 552-5591) and Michael L. LaFarr, (907-552-1035) As a general reminder, all solicitation related questions and concerns are to go through the Contracting Specialist and Contracting Officer.
Question 3: What is the proposed date of the exchange?
Answer: Performance of the Contract should not extend past the 9th of August 2024, and must begin at the latest by the 5th of August 2024.
Question 4: What are the number of units to be provided?
Answer: 792 24x24x3 Filters, across (4) paint bays in BLDG 9696 and one (1) paint bay in Building 6263. 22,000 lbs. will be in BLDG 9696, the remainder in BLDG 6263.
Question 5: What is the application of the system this will be used for?
Answer: Vapor.
Question 6: What is the currently installed carbon product type and mesh size?
Answer: 24x24x3.
Question 7: Is the spent carbon RCRA hazardous?
Answer: No, and the contractor will be responsible for the disposal of spent carbon.
Question 8: Is spent carbon to be disposed and/or reactivated by CCC?
Answer: Yes.
Question 9: Are any other medias involved such as sand, gravel, etc.?
Answer: No.
Question 10: Is site-specific safety training required?
Answer: No.
Question 11: When was last exchange?
Answer: 2017, via slurry.
Question 12: Were there any problems during the last exchange?
Answer: No.
Question 13: Is a crane or forklift available?
Answer: Yes.
Question 14: Is there a staging area available for equipment and carbon?
Answer: Yes.
Question 15: Is there availability of electricity?
Answer: Yes.
Question 16: Is there availability of compressed air?
Answer: Yes.
Question 17: Is there availability of water?
Answer: Yes.
Question 18: Your organizations requirement calls for 4mm particles. No particular grade of 4mm carbon is explicitly indicated, and are these supposed to be activated carbon particles? If possible, could you please send the specifications on the carbon currently in use with your organization?
Answer: GFS original specs call out for Bulk Carbon that’s 36 lb/cf in bulk density.
Approximately 12lbs of Carbon will hold 1lb. of V.O.C. Cells that are rated for a velocity of 120 fpm through the cell.
