Solicitation No: FA5000-18-Q-0220 Project: Bldg 651 Repair/Replace Roof Subject: Amendment for Questions and Answers

The purpose of this amendment is to clarify and answer the questions submitted by the contractors.

Q1: Does the main roofs get snow guards or just the dormers? Please provide what type of snow guard or manufacture desired. Will there be a design done for snow guard application requirements?

A1: Yes to main roof getting snow guards (not the dormers), if it is necessary, and the type recommended by roofing manufacture and guards that will not affect the warranty of the existing roof. If there is an ap-plication design required to maintain the manufactures warranty.

Q2: It states in the SOW that the seams shall be repaired as needed. What type of panels are on the roof?

A2: Firestone.

Q3: Can a drone be used to record and look at dormer areas?

A3: Drones cannot be used on the installation.

Q4: Given the late request for roofing proposal if we start this fall and encounter snow fall, will the pro-ject be postponed till after snow melt in the spring? This would require the ground to be dry and snow free to not damage while moving equipment around perimeter, this may put repairs off till summer of 2019.

A4: Repairs even if temporary in nature to protect the integrity of the existing roof must be made to min-imize further damage (ie: remove dangling metal, protect with ice&water shield, place temporary divert-ers etc.)

Q5: If repairs are to be postponed will there be a cost adder for possible material and labor fee increases in 2019?

A5: Only if additional damages that are unseen from initial bids/estimates.

Q6: Will there be a provided amount of repairs given to the contractor? What is considered an "in need of repair" item?

A6: All items will be repaired that need to be repaired in order to maintain the existing warranty
