About this file

This document is a Contractor's Questions and Answers (Q&A) for federal contract opportunity FA489726Q0015 regarding the procurement of a CNC Press Brake.

The Q&A addresses two key contractor inquiries regarding installation responsibilities. First, regarding electrical requirements, the contractor must install and hardwire the machine into existing 220V, 3-phase power at the designated location; the Government will not provide electrical hookup services, though power infrastructure already exists at the site. Second, concerning delivery and rigging, the Air Force Base (AFB) section can offload the brake from the delivery flatbed truck but cannot deliver it into the building due to equipment limitations—specifically, their available 10K lift will not fit into the hangar. This indicates the contractor is responsible for the final delivery and positioning of the equipment into the building. These clarifications establish that contractors must account for both electrical installation labor and internal delivery/rigging costs in their proposals.

FA489726Q0015 – CNC PRESS BRAKE –

CONTRACTOR’S QUESTIONS

1. The machine requires 220V, 3-phase power. Will the Government provide the required electrical power connection/electrician at the installation location, or should the contractor include electrical hookup in the quote?

Contractor will be required to install/ hardwire into the current area. There is additional labor associated as we already have that power in the designated location.

2. We see Installation and setup is required along with training. What about rigging? Will the AFB unload the brake from the delivery flatbed truck and bring it into the building to the desired location or is that also the responsibility of the Contractor/bidder.

Section will be able to offload but does not have the capability to deliver into the building because we will be using a 10K but that will not fit into the hanger.
