Hood and Duct Cleaning
The following are responses to industry submitted questions:
Note: Due to wide range of facilities, facility management, Hood and Duct Types, etc…, we do not have definitive answers to all questions asked.
Q1: Do all roofs have its own access/ladder?
A1: No.
Q2: Do all fans have hinge kits?
A2: Most do, some may not.
Q3: Do all duct lines have access panels?
A3: Unknown at this time.
Q4: Is there a current contract? If so what is the contract number and award amount.
A4: FA489714P0037/Interstate Fire Sales and Service, LLC/Base + 4 Option Years $159,940.00
Q5: Is there any duct drawings? Horizontal and vertical run lengths?
A5: No.
Q6: Do you have hood sizes and number on fan systems?
A6: No.
Q7: How are emergency calls prices there is no emergency call pricing on the schedule?
A7: Any emergency would be paid via Government Purchase Card (GPC) if pricing is fair and reasonable for an unscheduled emergency.
Q8: Is there any certain dates for the monthly/quarterly cleaning besides months?
A8: No, but we don’t want a gap in service from the old contract to the new contract.
We would like to keep monthly’s near the 30 day mark, past service did 3rd Thursday of the month.
We would like to keep quarterly’s near the 90 day mark, past service did service on 3rd Thursday of the month with the Monthly’s.

Q9: Please confirm all buildings are done after 5pm?
A9: Contractors need to preform work after hours so minimize disruptions to food operations.
Q10: Can you work on the weekend?
A10: Some facilities may allow weekend work, others won’t.
Q11: Who schedules the work with the facilities COR or contractor?
A11: Contractor does per para 1.1.1 and 4.1.2 in the PWS. A list of names and numbers will be provided to the contractor on award.
