FA488721Q0022 Question and Answer Document
Question 1 - What is the required delivery schedule after award?
- 180 days after contract award.
Question 2 - Is the supplier required to comply with requirements outline in the USAF Corrosion Control Facility Reference Guide?
- Yes, the supplier is required to comply with requirements outlined within the USAF Corrosion Control Facility Reference Guide.
Question 3 - Who will perform abatement (removal of Hexavalent Chromium) of the existing facility and the existing equipment prior to equipment removal?
- The Contractor is responsible for the abatement and must accomplish abatement of Hexavalent Chromium and any hazardous waste/universal waste in accordance with local, state, and federal laws.
Question 4a - Exactly where will the supplier need to place the equipment once removed from the existing facility?
- Equipment disposal is the responsibility of the contractor. The contractor shall determine their own off-base disposal procedures.
Question 4b - Will the removed equipment require any specific packaging, palletizing, protection, etc. upon removal, or simply placed on the ground?
- Equipment packaging shall be determined by the contractor to best fit their disposal methods. However, equipment that may contain chromium should be wrapped in plastic.
Question 5 - Does the 3/8" safety glass include or exclude internal glass wire reinforcement?
- Yes, the safety glass should include wire reinforcement.
Question 6 - Is the "electronically controlled pulse system" to be a "timed-pulse system with magnahelic gauge" or an "auto-pulse system with photohelic gauge"?
- The only requirement is that the electronically controlled pulse system is an “auto-pulse” system.
Question 7 - Do slide gates require internal sealing?
- Yes, slide gates shall be internally sealed.
Question 8 - Please confirm the Govt. is wanting the pay the added expense associated with "powder coating" when an industrial grade finish will be adequate for Arizona environment?
- The government does not require powder coating to be considered acceptable.
Question 9a - Does a "cleanroom approved" Air Shower mean an Air Shower that meets only those technical specifications listed in the SOW under Air Shower?
- Yes, the Air Shower is only required to meet those technical specifications listed within the SOW.
Question 9b - Does the Govt. want an Air Shower that is NIOSH compliant?
- No, NIOSH compliance is not required. The Govt. wants an Air Shower as specified in the SOW.
Question 10: What is the voltage, amperage and phase of the available power from the building?
- The available power is 277/480 volts, 225A amps, 30 phase (23 Open Breaker spaces).
Question 11: Please confirm that bidders can provide equivalent or better equipment for items specified in the new SOW that are brand name specific?
- The previously posted SOW has been updated to remove brand-specific requirements.
Quoters are to provide equivalent or better technologies to those specified in the SOW.
