About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for a federal contract opportunity (FA487726QA043) issued by the Air Force South (AFSOUTH) for deployable SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) tents, dated March 12, 2026.

The government is seeking one set of a deployable SCIF tent with RF shielding capabilities that meets ICD-705 standards for compliance. The preferred product is the FT Series FT10-PUF-1020 tent; however, equivalent solutions are acceptable if they meet salient characteristics and demonstrate ICD-705 compliance. The required RF shielding must provide a minimum attenuation level of 38dB across a frequency range of 38dB to 90dB. The tent is intended for primarily outdoor use with potential indoor applications. Specific TEMPEST/RF attenuation standards will be evaluated by the CTTA at DIA, and each SCIF-specific requirement is subject to their assessment. The tent will operate as a deployable SCIF with mitigation options to comply with ICD-705 standards during deployment. Performance of this requirement does not involve handling of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Quotes should be prepared for delivery to AFSOUTH SSO, 5340 Gafford Way Building 70 Room 110, Davis Monthan AFB, AZ 85707, with shipping cost estimates included in proposal preparation.

Q2: Whether the tent enclosure itself must be fully ICD-705 compliant, or if it only needs to support deployable SCIF operations within a broader accredited setup?

A2: The tent will be a deployable SCIF, there are mitigation options we use to comply with ICD-705 standards while deployed.

Q3: Whether specific TEMPEST/RF attenuation standards or certification are required for technical acceptability?

A3: Each SCIF specific TEMPEST/RF attenuation standards is evaluated by the CTTA at DIA. Cannot get a specific at the moment.

Q4: Required RF shielding attenuation level? (if specified)

A4: New ICD-705 standard will require a minimum of 38dB

Q5: Required shielding frequency range?

A5: Range should include 38dB to 90dB

Q6: Whether the tent is expected to be primarily used indoors, outdoors, or both?

A6: Primarily outdoors with the potential of being used indoors as well.

Q7: Confirmation that the brand name reference “FT Series – FT10-PUF-1020” is a brand name or equal requirement and equivalent solutions are acceptable if they meet the salient characteristics.

A7: Yes.

Q8: To ensure we fully understand the Government’s intent before preparing a quotation, could you please clarify whether the referenced FT-Series tent is intended only as a general example of a deployable RF-shielded enclosure, or if the Government expects the proposed system to include specific documentation demonstrating ICD-705-related SCIF compliance?

A8: Yes, the FT-Series is the one we desire but we expect any tent to demonstrate ICD-705 standards for compliance

Q9: Could you please confirm whether performance of this requirement will involve the handling of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)?

A9: Performance of this requirement will not involve CUI

Q10: How Many Units (Sets) of SCIF Tents will be Required at Start, and each Month thereafter?
