About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract F3G3AA6103A002 concerning a 57 MXG Paint Booth upgrade project. The document addresses six key inquiries regarding the scope of work and project requirements for upgrading paint booth facilities.
The contractor is responsible for performing a comprehensive electrical load analysis to determine if existing electrical infrastructure can support the proposed replacement HVAC equipment. If the existing transformer lacks sufficient capacity for the new equipment and increased electrical load, the contractor must provide and install appropriately sized transformer, main distribution panel (MDP), and all associated conduits, conductors, and necessary electrical infrastructure upgrades to ensure proper functioning of all electrical, environmental equipment, and the existing paint booth at project completion. Design submissions are required at five milestones: 35%, 65%, 95%, 100%, and Issued for Construction (IFC), with the Government allowing 21 calendar days for review of each submission. The Government has provided available electrical studies, panel schedules, transformer information, one-line diagrams, fault-current information, and electrical capacity data for Paint Booth #2 as referenced attachments. The current paint booth being upgraded operates under contract FA486125C0018.

Questions and Answers
1. What is the contract number for the Paint Booth that is currently being upgraded.
a. Contract FA486125C0018
2. If the existing transformer does not have sufficient capacity to support the proposed new units and increased load, will the contractor be required to provide a transformer upgrade or replacement, including all associated conduits, conductors, and other necessary electrical infrastructure upgrades?
a. Yes, the contractor will need to provide and install the correct sized transformer, MDP, etc. to ensure all electrical and environmental equipment and the existing paint booth function correctly at the end of the project.
3. Identify the required design submission stages for this project. Are formal design submissions required at specific milestones such as 35%, 65%, 95%, 100%, and/or IFC, or will the Government accept a single coordinated final design package prior to construction?
a. Based on the likelihood of the transformer and other electrical components needed to be upsized due to the larger equipment, base CE will be reviewing the milestones. They will require the following from the contractor: 35%, 65%, 95%, 100%, and IFC.
4. What is the anticipated Government review duration for each required design submission.
a. 21 calendar days
5. Please provide available electrical studies, existing panel schedules, transformer information, one-line diagrams, available fault-current information, and available electrical capacity serving Paint Booth #2.
a. Files attached
6. Is the Contractor responsible for performing an electrical load analysis to determine whether the existing service and distribution system can support the proposed replacement HVAC equipment
a. Yes, the contractor is responsible for performing an electrical load analysis.
