FA483024Q0033 LZ/DZ Clearing Quesons and Answers

1. Q: For the duraon of the project, how oen will my staff need to be recerfied for base entry?

A: The work to be performed will not be on Moody AFB, but in surrounding areas as referenced in the Statement of Work, therefore base entry will not be required to perform services. When landing/drop zone sites are to be cleared/cut, the contractor will communicate with the 347th Operaons Support Squadron/ Weapons and Taccs Office (347th OSS/OSK) in order to gain access to the landing/drop zones.

2. Q: Is there a maximum deck size limit, tractor, or mower weight retracon?

A: No, but keep in mind substanal rung will need to be filled in or otherwise leveled.

3. Q: Is there a current incumbent? If so, is there any informaon on the amount awarded?

A: No, there is no incumbent for this requirement. Prior clearing/cung of the landing/drop zones was accomplished via alternave means, therefore there is no prior contract documentaon available.

4. Q: Will there be a single gate the staff can access the installaon or will they be granted entry an any gate?

A: If the contractor needs access to Moody AFB, the contractor will be given a base pass request to gain access. Otherwise, the contractor will not need access to Moody AFB in the performance of services. Gaining access to gated properes that require mowing will be gained by contacng 347th OSS/OSK

5. Q: Will there be a daily POC staff we will be required to check in with prior to starng work?

A: The contractor will coordinate with the POC at the 347th OSS/OSK prior to start of, and at compleon of, mowing operaons as requested by 347th OSS/OSK. The landowner will also be informed when mowing operaons are started and, completed. There is no need for daily check in.

6. Q: Will we be required to maintain contact with range control in the event of training?

A: The 347th OSS/OSK will inform the contractor of any training events taking place if clearing/cung were to occur simultaneously to that training.

7. Q: Will there be a site visit scheduled for this solicitaon?

A: The site visit was held 23 April 2024 at 10:00 AM EST.

8. Q: Could you confirm if there is an incumbent for this contract? If so, may I inquire about the award amount?

A: See Queson 3.

9. Q: Can you provide informaon on the total acres that need to be cut?

A: The clearing/cung acreage for all 9 parcels is approximately 20 acres (each site acreage is specified in the Statement of Work). There will be a total of 3 cuts on each parcel for the performance period.

10. Q: Lastly, how frequently is the property scheduled for maintenance per calendar season?

A: See Queson 9.

15. Q: Pricing Schedule Items: The pricing schedule table lists three items (0001 to 0003). Does this indicate a requirement for the performance of land clearing and maintenance to occur three mes concurrently, or is there another interpretaon?

A: The CLINS broken down for each clearing/cut, as each zone is ancipated to be cut three (3) mes during the performance period. The government ancipates inial clearing/cung of the zones to be priced differently than the second clearing/cung and so on.

16. Q: Vegetaon Removal: The solicitaon specifies the removal of saplings. For clarificaon, could you provide more details on the specific types of plant material or trees that require removal? Addionally, what is the approximate height of the typical plant cover we can expect to encounter?

A: The contractor should encounter no saplings on the areas to be cleared/cut, but if they were encountered it would be pine at less than a foot in height. Debris should be cleared unless the is a significant storm, or other act of nature.

17. Q: How is the brush/debris to be disposed of aer it is cleared from the landing/drop zones?

A: Landowners do not want the debris burned nor buried on the sites. The material can either be taken off site and disposed of or mulching and spreading of the debris is allowable.
