About this file
This document is an Amendment containing Questions and Answers related to Solicitation FA483024Q0016 for Vertical Transportation Equipment (VTE)/Elevator Maintenance Services at Moody AFB.
The Q&A clarifies that the "above and beyond" clause refers to additional services or situations that extend beyond the scope of the standard maintenance agreement and may incur extra charges, such as responding to power outages or individuals getting stuck in elevators. The "acts of God" clause typically covers unforeseeable natural disasters that could result in significant damages not covered under the base contract. Contractors should provide their hourly rate for these "over and beyond" situations, with the quantity representing the number of individual occurrences that may arise. The solicitation is seeking the contractor that provides the best overall value considering both price and technical factors.

FA483024Q0016, ELEVATOR MAINTENANCE SERVICE
Q&A’s
Question Answer
Can you specify what the above and beyond is?
Regarding the "above and beyond" it refers to additional services or situations that extend beyond the scope of the standard maintenance agreement and may incur extra charges. These clauses outline specific scenarios or services that would require additional arrangements or charges beyond what is covered by the base contract. Concerning the "acts of God" clause, it typically refers to unforeseeable events beyond human control, such as natural disasters (e.g., floods, earthquakes).
While such events may result in significant damages, such as the replacement of a door, it's important to note that these costs would likely not be covered under the standard maintenance agreement.
Therefore, any repairs or replacements necessitated by "acts of God" would likely incur additional charges beyond the base contract.
Please clarify if we are putting in an amount in the “over and above” that reflects any cost over this number we will need to provide a proposal? Or are we putting in our hourly rate for repair work?
what is meant by "1" as far as the quantity is concerned with the "over and above".
The 'over and beyond' cost refer to the additional charge per hour for situations beyond regular elevator maintenance. For instance, if the elevator loses power or someone gets stuck during the week, you’ll need to specify the extra charge per hour for addressing such situations. Remember, 'over and beyond' encompasses any scenario beyond routine maintenance. And 1 quantity essentially signifies the specified rate or charge that applies for each individual occurrence or instance of a situation that goes beyond routine maintenance
