FA4830-18-Q-ZS01

Washers and Dryers Lease

21 November 2017

Solicitation Questions:

1. Why are there double the amount of dryers compared to washing machines?

a. The number of dryers are in place to better accommodate the tenants of that facility.

As drying takes more time than washing, more loads can be drying simultaneously as washers are being utilized.

2. Is the wall behind the dryers an exterior wall?

a. Yes

3. Per the PWS, the contractor must have all washers and dryers up and running within one day, can this be extended?

a. Yes. Upon discussing with the Contracting Officer Representative, it was agreed that washers and dryers can be installed gradually. However, a minimum of two washers and 2 dryers must be placed at each facility on the first day. The remaining machines can be installed throughout the first week. All machines must be in place by the end of the first week of performance.

4. Are 3 prong outlets used in all building?

a. Yes, with the exception of the fire house.

5. Is there an exhaust fan?

a. Dryers are vented to the outside of the facility.

6. The PWS states a 01 October performance start date. Is this correct?

a. An amendment was made to the PWS and incorporated with the solicitation.

Performance will begin 01 January, 2018.

7. The PWS states a total of 224 machines while the pricing schedule says 60 units. Is this correct?

a. That is correct. The PWS states 224 machines to be maintained for a twelve (12) month base and four (4) one-year options which equates for sixty (60) months across the entirety of the contract.

8. Is there a loading dock to back a semi into to unload the machines?

This document contains questions and answers regarding the solicitation. This document does not change the terms in the solicitation unless provided by amendment to the solicitation.

a. Yes. A loading dock is available for unloading however, logistically, this might not be the most feasible option. Coordination with the Contracting Officer Representative on the day of delivery will be required.

9. Effective January 1st, the requirement for energy star has changed to different regulations, has this been considered?

a. Yes, the PWS was amended to reflect this change. Please see the PWS dated 13 Nov 17 for changes.

10. In building 580, where does the exhaust vent exit?

a. Please see below diagram.
