Floating Dock Solicitation Q & A 13 June 9, 2025

1. We will need a bit more information on the installation location (address) along with a few pictures and low tide depth at the location in order to give you an accurate estimate for the installation.

Answer: 6820 Tyndall Pkwy, Tyndall AFB, FL 32403.

2. Can you give me more specifics on the boat, so we can design it correctly? What is the beam of the boat and what type of propulsion system does it have. Will this dock be located in water that is tidal where water depths fluctuate? Will a walkway be needed to access the dock?” Will you please respond with this information at your earliest convenience?

Answer: The Boat is 29 Feet long with a Beam of 8 feet 6 inches. Water is Tidal, preferably a floating system. No walkway needed.

3. Is the Contractor responsible for offsite disposal or is there an on base location preferred?

Answer: Contractor is responsible for transporting trash to dumpsters located near installation base.

4. Is a Prime Contractor superintendent required for the site?

Answer: No Prime Contractor Superintendent required for the site.

5. The instructions to offers document says hold the price for 30 days, SAM says until 30 SEPT 2025. Which is correct?

Answer: 30 September 2025

6. Is the RFQ FA481925Q0017 or 0016 as the information differs.

Answer: FA481925Q0016

7. Is the due date 06/17 or 06/11 as the information differs.

Answer: Offers are due 17 June 2025, 2:00 pm CDT

8. Will a FDEP permit be required to do this work?

Answer: Yes, FDEP permit will be required to do this installation.

9. Will the installation site require pilings? or fixed mounting points, or is a standard floating dock anchoring system (e.g., pipe brackets, rope tethers, or shore anchors) acceptable?

Answer: Standard Floating Dock, pipe brackets.

10. Is there an existing dock, seawall, or structure where the floating dock will be installed, or will it be placed in an open water setting?

Answer: Yes, there is an existing dock that the floating dock will be attached to, not open water setting.

11. Are there any environmental restrictions or base-specific guidelines related to installation methods (e.g., pile driving limitations, protected shoreline areas)?

Answer: FDEP permit will be required to do the installation. No environmental restrictions or base-specific guidelines related to installation methods.

12. Will power be available at the installation site?

Answer: Power will be available.

13. Will we, the contractor, be responsible for the demo of the existing dock or is it gone already?

Answer: No demo required. Existing floating dock was lost in storm.

14. Will the Govt require the salvaged metals from the existing dock to be recycled with a reimbursement to the Govt?

Answer: No

15. If the user could also let you know if there is a clear haul route, if the dock is next to concrete (so no erosion risks), clear laydown area for dumpsters, and any other environmental requirements to consider.

Answer: Yes, there is a clear haul route. Contractor would be responsible for taking debris and trash to dumpster located near the installation site.

16. Is Longshoreman Workers Compensation Insurance a requirement for this project (Prime and/or sub)?

Answer: No, Longshoreman Workers Compensation Insurance is not a requirement for this project.
