Request for Clarification for” Questions and Answers” provided by Tyndall AFB staff to facilitate the post-site visit on Monday, June 26, 2017
Request for Quote: FA4819-17-Q-3050
Objective: At the mandatory site meeting on 6/26/17 you are requiring shelving NOT Stanley Vidmar Modular Cabinets or equal too.
Question 11) What would you like for the security of the system? Mechanical brake:
To clarify Mechanical Safety Sweep: “for the protection of users and objects stored within the aisles” Toe-level Safety Sweep (for single or dual access): Consist of hinged aluminum safety bar running full length of the mobile carriages, flush with bottom of carriage frame and on both sides of carriage. Upon activation of the sweep, an internal device shall interlock with drive train resulting in positive stop anywhere in the module. A one-pound pressure applied on the safety bar will activate the safety. The safety shall automatically reset upon removal of the obstruction or if carriage is backed away from the obstruction. This active safety shall not require any electricity or battery to be activated (mandatory).
Question 11) What would you like for the security of the system? Security Lock:
To clarify Safety and Security Lock “allows authorized end-users to manually lock mobiles and systems in order to prevent unauthorized access to stored material.
a). The aisle safety push button protects user by preventing the system from moving while aisles are occupied. It has a built-in push locking design to facilitate its use and is a standard feature on all mechanical-assist handles.
b). Floor Locking Pin; used to lock mobiles manually in determined positions. Only a user in possession of the handle key can lock/unlock a mobile. Therefore, it is suggested to equip only the last mobile with Floor Locking Pin because it will block every other mobile in a closed system.
