QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS FOR SOLICITATION #

FA4814-09-R-0023

CORPORATE HOUSING

1. Under the definition provided for Class “A” Apartments, it mentions that washing machines must be available as an amenity in the community. Does this mean that laundry facilities must be available, or that they must be located within each apartment?

ANSWER: In accordance with the Performance Work Statement the washer and dryer units must be in the apartments.

2. Is the contract meaning that the contractor is only paid for these furnished apartments if and when there is an coalition member actually living in the apartment?

ANSWER: The contractor will only be paid for contract performance, meaning the contractor will only be paid when the apartments are occupied.

3. Is there an expected length of time that these coalition members would be living in the apartment?

ANSWER: The total expected period of performance for the requirement is three years, however the Government cannot guarantee how long an individual will be in the apartment, but an estimated timeframe will be submitted when they check-in.

4. How many providers you are looking to select?

ANSWER: The Government will award to as many contractors as needed to fulfill the requirement.

5. How many coalition members are each of those providers are expected to house? For example, it appears the contract is for 80 apartments. Does that mean that you expect 80 apartments to always be needed? If so, and you choose 2 providers, then we could expect that each provider would have around 40 coalition members housed at any point in time.

ANSWER: This requirement is a multiple award contract; therefore the quantity awarded will depend on the amount of contractors that receive an award.
