Auditorium Seating Solicitation FA480924Q0064
Request for Information Responses
Question 1: As I was checking the files from the solicitation, the images of the room shows that the front has a stage/platform? Is this something that was placed there for the installations going on or is it permanent there? If it is permanent there, what is its dimensions? Keeping a 4' distance in the front from the wall might leave no leg space for the chairs in front of that platform/stage.
Answer 1: The stage is permanent. Per SOW section 2.1, The room dimension given for length (33’- 6 & 7/8”) was from the base (meaning front) of the stage, not wall to wall. There should be 4’ space between the base/front of the stage and the chairs.
Question 2: I don't see any specs for the chair dimensions. I am understanding that we should be designing the quantity and dimensions? If this is the case, do we need to submit a CAD or a PDF of a layout plan, or a quotation with the specifications of the seating will suffice?
Answer 2: Yes, please design quantity and dimensions and include a PDF of the layout plan, as well as seating specifications.
Question 3: I don’t see any specs for chair dimensions. What are acceptable dimensions?
Answer 3: The recommended quantity is 108 total seats. This lends itself to 21” wide, on-center.
Seating in more than 1 dimension is also accepted. Seating shall be 21” to 22” wide, on-center.
The goal is to provide appropriate seating within the room dimensions given. The SOW will be revised to add this width specification.
Question 4: What are preferred row clearances?
Answer 4: Please quote industry standard row clearance for chairs with writing tablets.
Question 5: Is there a requested Install date?
Answer 5: Solicitation terms for installation are upon “Notice to Procced” issued by the Government. Lead time after “Notice to Procced” shall be proposed by the contractor (See FAR 52.212-2 Evaluation Criteria on the Solicitation) However, please note that the facility is currently ready for installation and Notice to Proceed will likely be issued soon after contract award.
