About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) attachment for Solicitation FA480325R0014, issued by the 20th Fighter Wing at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. The Q&A provides specific details about door requirements for a door repair project, including specifications for exterior metal doors, paint, and hardware. Key requirements include using welded frames meeting Steel Door Institute extra heavy duty standards, applying Sherwin-Williams Black Fox paint with spray finishing, and using Best Lock system cores that must be coordinated with the Base Locksmith.
The related federal contract opportunity is a small construction project to replace two exterior doors at Building 1904, with a value under $25,000. The project is 100% set aside for Women-Owned Small Businesses (WOSB) and requires contractors to provide all planning, labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the door replacements. Contractors must comply with specific Shaw AFB Design and Construction Standards, including door material, finishing, and hardware installation requirements. The contracting point of contact is SrA Tariq Ellis, with technical questions to be directed to specific Air Force personnel.
