About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details the cleaning requirements for Water Well B-2, located in the Boles Well Field approximately five miles south of Alamogordo, New Mexico. The well is 230 feet deep with an 8-inch diameter casing and a static water level of 107 feet. The contractor is required to clean the clogged casing by injecting a liquid descaling solution and using a brush to remove debris, with a maximum of 16 total hours of brushing work.
The cleaning process involves specific procedural steps: after eight hours of initial brushing, the contractor must stop and take a video of the well casing for review by the CE Utility Shop, who will determine if additional brushing is needed. If additional cleaning is required, the contractor can continue brushing for up to eight more hours. The well is located in a restricted area, and the CE Utility Shop (contact number 575-572-7080) will escort the contractor to the location. The pump and column pipe have already been removed from the well, leaving only rust and debris inside. Any damage to the casing discovered during brushing requires immediate work stoppage and notification to the CE Utility Shop.
