Q&A – FA480125Q0015
Question: In the SOW, the product specifications in section 3. uses some verbiage (equipment type names) that seem to be incorrect. Specifically, #1: Functional Training Half Rack w/attachment, as it then goes on to list multiple different fitness stations included, this item must be a multi-gym of some sort. Can the government provide an example of the brand/make/model of the various equipment being requested, so we can ensure we’re providing the as specified or equals that meet the requirements?
Answer: Numerous equipment companies offer a substantial degree of rack/equipment modularity, allowing the installation crew (or) customer to ‘form-fit’ components to a particular space – Though, this would not categorically be described as ‘custom-fabricated.’
To competitors, this portion of the SOW may seem unclear, only if this request for modularity exceeds the capabilities of the company’s manufacturing profile. The specific list of ‘multiple different fitness stations’ this competitor is referring to are equipment pieces that should be constructed in a way that allows for them to be integrated (connected/bolted) with each other, to preserve open floor space in the facility, as much as possible. In example, a stand-alone functional cable pulley-system and a stand-alone power rack will not fit the requirement; Rather, a functional cable system that can be directly integrated/attached to (or) in a power rack will satisfy the request.
