ADDENDUM TO STATEMENT OF WORK

1. The Contractor shall repair some asphalt pavement on Runways 22 and 25. Details are listed below.

2. The work zone for Runway 22 will be 50' wide x 325' long. It will start at the asphalt/concrete joint at the 22 end of the runway, and will proceed 325' down the runway.

The work area will be centered directly over the centerline, so the new longitudinal joints will be 25' away from the centerline.

3. The work zone for Runway 25 will be 30' wide x 250' long. It will start at the asphalt/concrete joint at the 25 end of the runway, and will proceed 250' down the runway.

The work area will be centered directly over the centerline, so the new longitudinal joints will be 15' away from the centerline.

4. The Contractor shall first perform a 2.5" deep cold mill of the existing asphalt pavement.

The millings shall be hauled to the CE Compound and dumped there. The milling shall conform to the requirements listed in UFGS 32 01 16.71, “COLD MILLING ASPHALT PAVEMENT”, dated February 2017.

5. If necessary, the Contractor shall sawcut the asphalt edges on three sides of the milled area to achieve a vertical joint face. Remove and dispose the asphalt pavement strips at the Bear Base rubble pile. This work will not be required if the joint faces are already vertical and clean after milling operations.

6. Sweep the milled area to remove all debris. Perform surface preparation as required.

7. Apply a tack coat to the milled surface and the joint faces. The tack coat shall conform to the requirements listed in UFGS 32 12 13, “BITUMINOUS TACK AND PRIME COATS”, dated May 2017.

8. Install 2.5" thick asphalt pavement in the milled area. The new pavement shall match the existing grades in both the longitudinal and transverse directions. The new pavement shall conform to the requirements listed in UFGS 32 12 15.13, “ASPHALT PAVING FOR

AIRFIELDS”, dated November 2017. Use Gradation 2 and 75-blows for the mix design. Use PG 64-22 asphalt cement binder.

9. Install a hot-applied, single component, polymeric joint sealant between the new asphalt and the existing concrete. Install sealant in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. The sealant must be approved for use on airfields.

10. After the proper curing period has elapsed, the Contractor shall stripe the runway centerlines as required. Install a 6" wide, non-reflective black border around the white striping. Runway 22 will require two complete centerlines. Runway 25 will require one complete centerline, plus an additional 50' on two existing centerlines. The striping work shall be in accordance with ETL 04-2. This work will require the Contractor to return to the runways on a weekend a few weeks after the paving work has been completed.

11. The work areas shall be swept and cleaned after the work is complete. This shall be done after both the paving and paint striping work.

12. The Contractor shall attend a Pre-Construction meeting and an airfield safety briefing prior to the start of work.

13. The Contractor shall take measures to avoid damaging the surrounding pavement outside of the work zones.

14. The Contractor shall erect barricades around the work zones as required.
