About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for solicitation FA480026Q0061, a JLG Lift Repair project issued by the Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command. The document clarifies technical and logistical details regarding the repair of a JLG 600S Telescopic Boom Lift to be performed at Langley Air Force Base. Key clarifications include: the government will cover transportation within a 50-mile radius of Langley AFB, while the contractor assumes responsibility for distances exceeding 50 miles; the equipment is currently mobile and can move under its own power; replacement tires are 39 X 15-22.5 BLACKSTONE OTR pneumatic-filled units for the left front and rear positions and right rear position; a full hydraulic system flush is required rather than only topping off fluid levels; and water contamination is limited to the control panel, not the hydraulic system itself.
Additional clarifications address repair scope and responsibility allocation: the swing control valve requires replacement per Section 3.1 of the Statement of Work; any latent defects discovered during testing and the required 30-minute load test will be addressed through formal contract modification at government expense; and the government assumes financial responsibility for additional repairs beyond the specified work if the initial repairs fail to restore full functionality. The questions document confirms that a certified technician previously diagnosed the equipment and that no other issues beyond those documented are known to exist. This is a Total Small Business set-aside solicitation with a response due date of June 8, 2026.
