About this file

This document contains questions and answers related to a federal contract opportunity for church pew upholstery. The key details are:

The contract opportunity is for the reupholstery of church pews, to be awarded to the vendor offering the lowest price technically acceptable. The NAICS code is 811420, and vendors do not need this code listed in their SAM profile but must certify if they are a small business under the $9M size standard. The statement of objectives provides complete details on the requirement. Additional information is requested on the number of missing/broken kneelers, the chair/pew design and dimensions, the existing materials and manufacturer, and the work schedule and location access. There is no specified due date, but busy times are noted around the holidays, Ash Wednesday, and Passover. On-site work space is available, but must be cleaned up daily. Interested vendors should contact Amn Rebeca Ruji for any questions.

CHURCH PEWS REQUIREMENT QUESTIONS.

1. First question is on the kneelers, how many are missing and need replacement?

What is the extent of broken hardware that needs to be replaced?

2. What do the chairs look like? Are they completely upholstered? Do you have dimensions or a photo that can be referenced? I only see pictures of the pews in the solicitation.

3. Do you have an original manufacturer for the material on the pews and chairs so we can match it? This is not mentioned in the solicitation but are the pews in need of new foam? The solicitation mentions the upholstery is about 20 years old. Typically foam tends to break down after about 20 years, would it be reasonable to quote replacing the foam in the pew seats, backs and kneelers?

4. How many pews can be worked on at one time? Can we section off an area we can complete in one day and work in stages? Can Mondays be an all-day workday? Can we work in the evenings or do a night shift? Or how early in the morning can we begin work?

5. Do you know if there is a due date?

6. Can you also let us know if there is any space for us to do on site work?

ANSWERS

1. Four kneelers have missing hardware (knobs) and one kneeler is missing.

2. Yes, they are completely upholstered (Please See Attached)

3. Manufacturer is unknown. Also foam being replaced would be preferable for the back, seat, and kneelers.

4. Five-six pews/kneelers may be sectioned off and worked at a time. Mondays and Fridays are completely open for work on those days (we must make sure we don’t have reservations put in for those days). Evenings/overnight would be possible we just need to coordinate a key for access and locking up (my key could be turned in to accommodate this). The earliest work can start for the day is 0600.

5. There is not a specified due date. However, our busy times would be during December for the holidays. Around Ash Wednesday (5 March 2025) And 12-20 April for Passover, Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter.

6.In terms of space, there are rooms that are unoccupied. However, they must be picked up after they are done for the day because rooms are used on Sundays and for other various purposes throughout the work week.
