MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD
SUBJECT: FA468622QA003 Amendment P0002, Fire Protection / Fire Alarm Clarification
1. This amendment is to respond to the following query:
a. We would like a clarification regarding the fire alarm system please. Could you please advise if the fire alarm is stand alone or base wide?
i. Are there fire suppression/alarm requirements?
ii. Yes
2. A review of UFC 3 601 1-2.1.1 and 1-2.1.2 directs applicability of the UFC to facilities.
Fire Suppression and Fire Alarm systems are required as answered above. The Fire
Alarm system must interface with the base-wide fire alarm system, which is a Monaco-type system here at Beale AFB. Please ensure compliance with all requirements in the following order of precedence: UFC, ETL, USAF AFI/DAFI guidance, NFPA. No further guidance is currently available.
