Paging System Questions and Answers:
1. The gym has one horn style speaker at center court that needs to be replaced with dome speakers. How many dome speakers would they like to have installed, and do they want them located at center court as well?
1 to 4 speakers, as needed. If one speaker can adequately cover the area we will accept one. If more than one speaker is required for the gym floor area, we would like full coverage on the floor.
2. Will each of the ceiling speakers require an enclosure cover?
Yes. The speakers should be flush with the ceilings as they are now.
3. For the sauna and steam room would it be acceptable to use a surface mounted speaker that is designed to be moisture resistant?
We will not require speakers inside the steam rooms and saunas.
4. Need clarification on the Bluetooth Equipment listed in scope line item 2.4.
We want to be able to connect to the system via Bluetooth. The receiver/transmitter unit should also have Bluetooth.
5. What type of adapter will be required for the audio input jack?
Headphone style jack.
6. For the new speaker cable that will be installed, will we need to use a Plenum rated cable, or will we need to install conduit for protecting the new cable especially in the sauna and in the steam rooms.
Per our Base Fire Department, as long as it complies with NFPA 70 (electrical code) it will not be an issue for us. It must also comply with the National Electric Code (NEC) and appropriate UFC’s per Base CE.
7. While we are installing the new cabling and speakers on the basketball court, will the base be responsible for covering the basketball court flooring with some type of protective material so the scissor lift may operate on the basketball court?
No, the contractor will be required to provide required covering for the floors. Base CE requires ¾ inch pieces of plywood with protector between plywood and the wood floor. Any damages to the floor are the contractors’ responsibility to repair per the SOW.
8. What is the weight capacity of the gym floor? Is there a specific lift that must be used?
Per Base CE, a scissor lift should not be a problem as long as the guidance is followed in question #7. Rotating two pieces of ¾” plywood while moving the lift should be fine.
9. Since a lift is required in each of the weight room bays due to the ceiling height, will we be able to secure a weight room bay while we are working in side of it?
Yes. We will ensure any area you will work in has no customers.
10. How many zones are required for the new P.A. system?
Please clarify Zones. We have 11 areas that require speakers. All speakers annotated on the diagram provided are the areas where the speakers are required.
11. Will the music from the AM/FM tuner be heard from all of the speakers on the system at the same time, or will only certain areas hear what is being transmitted from the AM/FM tuner?
Yes, the music from the AM/FM tuner will be heard from all of the speakers on the system at the same time.
12. Will the areas stay fixed, or would they like some flexibility with being able to choose different areas at different times?
We require flexibility with being able to choose different areas at different times.
13. Will we be able to secure each of the locker rooms while we are working inside of them?
Yes
14. Is there a set of written compliance requirements for the P.A. System that could be sent us that the CE Inspector will be using for testing the system?
Per our Base Fire Department, the equipment installed and the work completed must comply with NFPA 70 (electrical code). It must also comply with the National Electric Code (NEC) and appropriate UFC’s per Base CE.
15. Since there is a potential for delays to do the usage of the facility, would it be possible to request 30 working days to complete the installation of the system?
The SOW states the construction period for the Public Address System installation is 30 calendar days.
16. Prior to starting the installation, we would like to do a thorough job walk with the installation team, will that be possible? We would like to have CE present as well. Yes.
17. The maintenance required as part of the warranty, will that need to be done monthly or as suggested by the manufacturer?
Suggested by the manufacturer.
18. TSC provides a standard One Year Warranty for parts and labor. Will the site require a maintenance contract past the first year, and for how many years?
The decision for an extended warranty contract will not occur before this contract is awarded.
19. Is there a building HAZMAT report available?
