Questions on FA4664-15-R-0014 Replace Steel Column Anchors and Roll Up Door Building 1244

1. If asbestos/lead is found removal may be required. How will the customer address this issue to pay the contractor for a service not included in this proposal? Will be answered by the Contracting Office.

ANSWER: An asbestos/lead survey is required in accordance with SOW. Once survey is completed and evaluated, if needed a modification will be required.

2. During the job walk we noticed that a “SMOKING SIGN” is placed on the roll up door carriage will this sign still be required?

ANSWER: No

3. The exterior of the roll up door has a sign that reads “Fire Lane Do Not Block” barely noticeable. Will this sign be required or will the wording be required to be painted on the edge of the concrete floor driveway entrance?

ANSWER: No sign needed on door nor driveway.

4. Will contractor be able to use the facility electricity and water?

ANSWER: Yes

5. A-100 note 2 describes the responsibility of the contractor to disable the HEF system and once project work is completed reactivate and test for reassurance the system is working. How will the contractor know the system was working prior to deactivating?

ANSWER: As the contractor does no work to the HEF system in this SOW (other than turn off and on and test), in the unlikely event that the system proves to have operational issues once the system is turned back on and tested, the contractor will not be held liable for any HEF issues. The contractor will be required to coordinate the HEF system turn off and on and test with the project engineer, and the March Fire Department will be present for all actions concerning the HEF. Reminder, The system test is of course not a foam dump, but a verification of the control signal from the control panel to the foam generator.

6. As I am looking through the SOW it calls for a particular Cornell door but it also calls to be insulated.

ANSWER: The overhead door is needed, with all the requirements as stated in the SOW.
