About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for a washer/dryer lease procurement at Dyess Air Force Base. The Q&A clarifies that the requirement is for 12 barracks buildings, with no elevators, but with sidewalk access. The equipment requirements include 72 single washers, 72 single dryers, and 76 combo washer/dryers (which can be either stacked units or all-in-one combos). All dryers require 4-prong electrical connections.

The facility offers both short-term storage (2,000 sq ft climate-controlled and 2,000 sq ft warehouse with loading dock) and long-term storage (200 sq ft within dorms). Service calls have been revised from 500 to 75 per year, with payment only for actual calls completed. Semi-annual maintenance includes vent cleaning, with vent runs approximately 5-8 feet long. The contract is planned to start in January or February, with weekend work requiring special approval. Installation scheduling is at the contractor's discretion, though washrooms should not be out of service over weekends or holidays.
