7 SFS Armory Racks Questions and Answers 8-24-2023
(Question #1) What is the floor to sprinkler height in the armory?
(Answer #1) Unknown at this time on sprinkler height. Will be provided at a later date.
(Question #2) Will a reverse bi-fold door be acceptable? This is what is installed in the CATM armory.
(Answer#2) No. The doors for the racks must hideaway completely for clearance in isles.
(Question #3) Will the M4s be stored with attachments on the sides of the rail? If yes, they will need a minimum of 5.5" W spacing or double spaced so the optics do not collide.
(Answer #3) Yes. The M4's will have attached ACOG's or DVO's with attached PEQ15 laser system, flashlights, and vertical fore grips.
(Question #4) The M249 and M240 cabinets do not note any storage for spare barrels and/or spare barrel bags. Does the armory wish to store the spare barrels and/or spare barrel bags with the heavy weapons?
(Answer#4) Yes. The spare barrels will be secured behind or beside the MGs via a bag hook or barrel cradle.
(Question #5) Line items. 1.6.1-1.6.6 cite specific numbers of weapons for each cabinet. As each manufacturer may have different standard weapon storage capacities per cabinet; is it acceptable to store the minimum number of weapons in the statement of work in less cabinets than what is currently requested? If yes, please list the minimum number of weapon types required for storage.
(Answer #5) No, Due to increasing mission needs and need for growth needs we must have a certain amount of cages to be able to storage additional weapons if the space accommodates. We must be able to store at a minimum of 280 M4 series rifles, 280 M18 pistols, 12 M240B, 30 M320's, 26 M249's, 8 M110A1's, 11 M870's.
(Question #6) 1.6.7: Caged equipment shelves (deep): This space has obstructions on the wall and cannot be fully optimized per the drawing provided in the SOW. Would the unit prefer one wider section of shelving in this space? How many shelf levels are required on the shelving?
(Answer #7) This shelf must fit in the requested location with allotted space between the light switches and the AC unit in the corner. The shelf will be metal construction will caged lockable folding doors with 4 levels with the top shelf being able to store equipment.
(Question # 8) 1.6.8: How many shelf levels are required on the shelving?
(Answer # 8) 4 levels
(Question #9) Shelves in racks -1.6.1-1.6.6: Are shelves required in the weapon racks to store ancillary gear? Does the unit want shelves between vertical tiers of M4s?
(Answer # 9) Yes, if able to provide shelving between M4 racks. Provide open shelving in the center of the rack with 1 to 2 open shelf space with appropriate length and height provided by the overall shelf height.
(Question # 10) 1.6.9: Metal Equipment table and shelving: Are doors required to lock the storage space under the counter top?
(Answer #10) No, the table will be attached to the wall under the arming windows with open cubby style shelving to secure 40 storage slots for equipment. The length will be approximately 7Ft by 2 Ft with a counter height of 38 inches.
(Question #11) 1.6.10: How many locker doors are required? The SOW implies 8 locker doors. What dimensions are required for the lockers? H x W x D?
(Answer #11) The lockers will have 8 doors. Each individual locker will be 3Ft x 3Ft x3 Ft stacked two high two wide.
(Question #12) Drawing #1 = 0007 on Description / 1.1.7 SOW Are these just cages or do they have a shelf?
(Answer #12) These items will be a shelf and cage with a lockable swinging door.
(Question #13) If they have shelves, how many?
(Answer #13) 4 shelves inside the cage.
(Question #14) Drawing #2 = 0008 on Description / 1.1.8 SOW I need to verify quantity 2 or 3 (drawing shows 2, solicitation states 3)
(Answer #14) The caged shelving will be 2 units and one countertop and shelving below the arming windows.
(Question #15) Please verify the dimensions of the cages. Drawings do not specify.
(Answer #15) Heavy duty caged shelving by center wall will be 7'0'' X 2'6'' X 7'3''

(Answer #16) Shelving with caged exterior.
