Questions and Answers
1. Q. I have looked at the pump requirements for the size boiler we are to provide. Can a 1/2 hp variable speed pump that will be controlled by the boiler to provide the exact flow the boiler needs, depending on the boiler firing rate that Honeywell will ask the boiler to provide be used?
A: 1. No. 3Hp pump is necessary. The 3Hp pump will have Variable Frequency Drive, (VFD).
2. Q. Can the new boiler be hooked up to the geothermal water line just before it enters the multi-stack unit using two closely spaced tees? The boiler, on command from Honeywell, will inject heat into the multi-stack for it to pull out of the geo water as needed. I think that is what is required here unless I have missed the boat completely.
A: 2. No connections to the current heating/cooling system.
3. Q. I will provide a natural gas regulator to bring the gas pressured down to the pressure required by the boiler. Is this okay?
A: 3. Yes, The addition of a gas regulator may be is a part of the boiler installation. Some boilers come with a step-down gas regulator some do not. It is up to the contractor to supply whatever parts are needed for proper and safe operation of the system.
