QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Snow/Ice Removal- FA4659-13-R-0007

Below are questions that were submitted on 24 July 2013, by email to 319th CONF, followed by the answers.

1. It is my understanding that the contractor will need to store sand and salt at a off base location. Is this correct?

Answer: Correct, off base storage or on base if/when approved by our environmental office. Contractor will have to meet all state and federal laws in the storage of materials.

2. I also saw that the MFH areas, Hickam and Base Housing Office were deleted from the bid. Would you still like a quote for those areas in the event that

Privatization does not occur? We would be willing to add this to our proposal.

Answer: I see no reason to bid on a requirement that no longer exist, the amendment went out to eliminate these areas as a result of privatized housing effective 1 Aug 2013.

3. I would also like clarification on the storm drains. In the past we have only taken care of drains that required cleaning. Is it the expectation that all drains will be cleaned base wide in the spring? If so, this would significantly impact our proposal.

Answer: All Storm drains shall be inspected and clean out the drains with excessive debris/sand. Contractor and COR will agree annually what drains are to be cleaned based on the inspection results.
