About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document related to a mortuary services solicitation for Malmstrom AFB, Montana. The Q&A addresses key aspects of contractor responsibilities for mortuary and transportation services.

The document clarifies that contractors must generate their own pricing sheet based on PWS requirements, and while they must be capable of cross-state transportation (specifically to Spokane, WA due to Montana airport limitations), they should not include travel costs in their pricing sheets. The contractor is responsible for coordinating with 341 FSS for travel arrangements and must initially pay for ground and air transit costs, which will be reimbursed by the government. The contractor's transport responsibility is limited to delivering remains to the airport or point of debarkation, not organizing air travel. All necessary certificates and legal requirements for cross-state transport must be maintained by the contractor.

QuestionAnswer
1Where is the Pricing Sheet? The Pricing Sheet will be generated by the contractor using the items needed listed in the attached PWS.
2Is the contractor responsible for the total travel (to final destination) of the individual? No, the contactor is required coordinate with 341 FSS to organize the travel needs. The contractor is only expected to transport the individual to the airport or other point of debarcation, not organize any air travel nor deliver across state lines.
3Is the contractor expected to go across state lines with Human Remains?Yes. Montana does not currently have any airports that will accept/transport human remains. The next closest airport is Spokanne, WA.
4Is the contractor responsible for the cost of the transit of the Human Remains? No. The total cost of the ground and air transit of the Human Remains will need to be paid by the contractor. This cost WILL be reimbursed by the Government once the proper arrangements have been made.
5Is the contractor required to be able to transport across state lines?Yes. The contractor will need to be able to travel across state lines. This includes all valid certificates and legal requirements that are needed for this function.
6Does the cost of travel need to be on the Pricing Sheet? No. Do not include the pricing of travel on your Pricing Sheet. This cost should be tracked still in the event of use so the Government can reimburse but as for the requirements of this Pricing Sheet it is not needed.
