QUESTIONS AND ANSWER DOCUMENT

Requirement: Building 870 Flooring

08 June 2020

Q1: Is there a Site Visit?

A1: It is okay with facility personnel to have a site visit.

Q2: If there is a Site Visit, can photos and measurements be taken of the flooring conditions?

A2: Both photos and measurements of flooring conditions are okay.

Q3: Is the cove base thermal set high rubber content? Thermal Plastic lower rubber content or Vinyl (no rubber content)?

A3: The cove base is Thermal Plastic.

Q4: Is the cove base four feet lengths or 120 foot rolls? And are they pre-molded or site formed outside corners?

A4: They are 120 foot roll with site formed corners.

Q5: Is the current flooring and adhesives certified asbestos free prior to removal of the existing flooring?

A5: The asbestos inspection came back negative with a report submitted.

Q6: Is additional flooring and cove base required for future repairs?

A6:No. There is no need for additional flooring and cove base.

Q7: Has the slab been tested for Relative Humidity or will that be the responsibility of the contractor? Max level acceptable for required adhesive is 90%. ASTM F2170 guidelines require (3) tests for the first 1000 sq. ft. and (1) additional test for each additional 1000 sq.

ft. of flooring.

A7: This will be contractor responsibility.

Q8: It is noted that the area will remain in active use. Shaw 4100 adhesive requires no traffic for 24 hours. Light foot traffic 24-72 hours. Normal traffic after 72 hours. Shaw

S150 allows for return to foot traffic upon completion. Rolling traffic after 24 hours. What is the open to traffic requirement / timeline?

A8: Shaw S150 will be the adhesive.

Q9: Under Statement of Work 3. Execution 3.3 line 3 it states "patch, level and prepare substrate for the new flooring." Does this mean flatten the floor or do you want the entire floor in the area leveled? The words flat and level seem the same but can have two entirely different meanings in the building / flooring trades.

A9: Repair holes, cracks, depressions or rough areas using polymer fortified patching compounds recommended by the flooring/adhesive manufacturer compatible with existing surfaces to ensure a smooth, finished appearance.

Q10: Will the office furniture, computers, etc. be removed from the rooms that will have flooring removed and installed? If so, will the Government remove it or is it the responsibility of the contractor?

A10: The Government will remove furniture, computers, etc.
