FA4626-11-T-0003 LF Concrete Repair

Contractor Questions & Answers

1. Is there water available at the sites?

No, there is no access to water at the sites.

2. Is there access to power or do we need to bring generators?

The specifications call for “The contractor shall provide any necessary portable power.”

3. Can we bring heavy equipment and trucks onto the site?

Yes, heavy equipment can be brought on site. It may not be driven on the concrete LSB lid.

4. Page 4 of the drawings, detail 4, for the construction joints, the period of between the lifts is to be 14 days. Will the time for the contractor to be on site be stopped for this period of time?

Any required curing time will not count toward the performance period.

5. The plans also call for the concrete to cure 14 days from the time of the saw cut to the sealant of the joint. Will time be stopped between the saw cutting and the joint sealant?

6. At I-3, the south east corner of the area to be removed and replaced appear to be much deeper than the 2.5” as specified in the specifications and plans. Would additional defective materials be paid for under a separate item or is this incidental to the remove and replace line item?

Any additional material to be removed, though not expected, will be incidental to CLIN 0001 AA.

7. What type of material is the old or existing waterproof membrane under the wearing slab?

Personnel will perform tests on a few samples. Test results will be posted once received.
