REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)

Air Mobility Command (AMC) Fairchild Air Force Base-Washington

1.0 DESCRIPTION

The government is seeking businesses with laundry/dry cleaning services.

1.1 THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY

This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes-it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any service whatsoever. Furthermore, the Air Force is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not apply for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party’s expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP; once issued.

2.0 BACKGROUND

Provide laundry and dry cleaning services to Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington.

2.1 PERFORMANCE PERIOD

1 OCTOBER 2021- 30 SEPTEMBER 2025

3.0 REQUESTED INFORMATION

Please respond to this RFI by completing the Laundry Codes and Categories (Attachment 1).

4.0 RESPONSES

Interested parties are requested to respond to this RFI by completing the attached Laundry Codes and Categories (Attachment 1). Responses shall be submitted via e-mail to Mallory Stephenson, mallory.stephenson.2@us.af.mil or Gregory Wemhoff, gregory.wemhoff.1@us.af.mil, no later than 16 December 2019 1:00 PM PST. Proprietary information, if any, should be minimized and MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED. To aid the Government, please segregate proprietary information and be advised that all submissions become Government property and will not be returned.

5.0 QUESTIONS

Questions regarding this announcement shall be submitted in writing via e-mail to Mallory Stephenson, mallory.stephenson.2@us.af.mil or Gregory Wemhoff, gregory.wemhoff.1@us.af.mil. Verbal questions will NOT be accepted. Questions will be answered, and posted for fair opportunities.

6.0 SUMMARY

THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY to identify source that can provide laundry and dry cleaning services. The information provided in the RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the government.

PLEASE ANSWER THE FOLLOWING:

1. Are these categories proposed aligned with the industry standard?

2. Do you agree or disagree with the wash codes proposed? (if not, provide what you as a contractor would combine on the attached)

3. What are the variants on each category? (i.e. What categories are recommended to be weighed and what categories should be handled as each)

4. If items are laundered weight, what is the industry standard for a variance between accepted weight and delivered weight?

5. What are the recommended bundles of items within each category? (Provide a number of each item. EX: 5 flat sheets bundled = 1 bath towel = $2.00)

6. If heavier items are cleaned by weight, can your organization provide the scale to do this as part of the service? Yes or No?

7. How should the government track each item being laundered and dry cleaned with a combination of items being weighed and itemized by each piece? (please provide an example of what this would look like, e.g: cleaning ticket, weight ticket,)
