Questions and Answers for FA4613-17-R-0005
Install Comm Room Power Panel at 15 Missile Alert Facilities
Q1: On the drawings, should the breaker that feeds the 100A panel be a 100A breaker or the 225A breaker as shown?
A1: The breaker should be changed to be a 100A breaker
Q2: The wire size shown #4 wire is only rated for 80A. The wire size needs to be #2 for 100, please confirm changing the wire size.
A2: Only copper wire is used on AF installations; 4 AWG is rated for 100 A.
However must be rated as per code.
Q3: There is only one ground wire shown. If the new panel is to have an Isolated Ground there needs to be another ground wire added, please confirm adding another ground.
A3: Yes, there should be two insulated grounds running to the new panel (one for Equipment and one for Isolated Ground).
