About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers document related to a federal contract opportunity for carpet installation at Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA. The key details are:
There is no incumbent contractor for this carpet installation requirement. The correct carpet tile size is 12 x 36 inches, which is the Mohawk Timeless Tailored visual. The carpet base color will not match the carpet tile color/pattern, as Mohawk does not provide a broadloom product in the same color as the carpet tile. The contractor will not be required to lift or move existing furniture as part of the carpet installation. This is a new requirement under the Carpet II Program, solicitation number FA4610P24CINS, issued by the Department of the Air Force Space Command.

SUBJECT: SLD 30 Carpet Install (Notice ID: FA461024Q0090)
1. Will the government please clarify if there is an incumbent providing service on this contract or is this level of effort a new need?
There is no incumbent for this requirement.
2. If there is an incumbent, can the government please provide the most recent contract award number & contract value?
There is no incumbent for this requirement.
3. In the specified materials it states Mohawk, Timeless Tailored 24”x24”; Timeless Tailored is the Visual Connections which is 12” x 36” I just want to make sure that is not going to be a problem. I reached out the Mohawk AFB contract rep and she stated Timeless Tailored is the Visual Connections. Is this acceptable?
The correct size for the Mohawk selection is 12 x 36 and is acceptable.
4. The Mohawk carpet base that is called out is a different color from carpet tiles that are called out. It is the only one that is a different color of all the other carpet base colors. Are we to use the same carpet base color as the carpet tiles or is this correct?
Mohawk does not provide the carpet tile color/pattern in a broadloom product. The color/pattern indicated is the coordinate selection that will work with the carpet tile.
5. Performance work statement states "Contractor will/will not be required to provide services to lift and/or move existing cubicle furniture or other furniture in the room where flooring is to be replaced." It appears one of these should have been circled. Which is correct?
The contractor will NOT be required to lift and/or move existing cubicle furniture or other furniture in the room where flooring is to be replaced.
