SUBJECT: Questions and Answers

a. Clarify the square footage stated in the Statement of Work. Statement of Work reflects 6,660 sq ft verses the 5,600 sq ft stated at the site visit.

Aproximatly 5,600 ft2. Actual amount to be verified by contractor.

b. Can the floor be bead blasted, or can the mastic be removed with buffers? Which do you prefer.

No the best practice is chemical removal.

c. What is the expected floor finish after the abatement?

Bare concrete free of mastic.

d. Black mastic removal shows hand removal, can’t we grind the concrete floor to leave a better surface area for the concrete finish?

No mechanical means is not considered best practice. Chemical is the accepted norm.

e. Is the project required to be completed in phases? The Statement of Work does not include any verbiage regarding phases as mentioned at the site visit.

Yes two phases to be mutually agreed upon by both facility manager and contractor.

f. The following questions are in regards to CLIN 0003 only.

Does our proposal/quote for these services have to submitted directly to the abatement contractors bidding on this project or to the contracting office?

The Contracting Office is not accepting partial quotes.

How many days/weeks do you estimate the asbestos abatement portion of this project will be?

Per the Statement of Work, the period of performance shall be for sixty (60) days after award of the contract.

Will you have a sign-in sheet provided to everyone who attended the meeting?

Sign-in sheet will be available upon request to vendors that attended site visit.
