DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE

2D CONTRACTING SQUADRON

BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE LOUISIANA

Subject: This Memorandum is to answer questions that where asked concerning solicitation No. FA460824QS027 and to extend the solicitaion date.

1. The new solicitation deadline for quotes will be Thursday 18 July, 2024. This is due to the fact that the customer answered the questions a day late so in order to compensate for the time the government will extend the quotes due by date one

(1) day later.

2. Please see questions below. Anwsers are in red.

i. Please confirm the make-up of the existing wall. Is plywood or expanded metal anticipated in the existing wall assembly?

Anwser: The existing wall is “type A” (ICD 705). Whatever decision is made, the wall must return to a “Type A” wall. I’m uncertain about the plywood or expanded metal.

ii. Please confirm that rebuilding the entire wall required and that installing the new door in the existing wall will not be permitted.

Anwser: Installing the new door on the existing wall will not be permitted due to weight and door type of new door. Current wall must be reinforced to support the new door.

iii. Is installing the new door into the existing wall permitted?

Anwser: No, unless installer plans on reinforcing the wall to support the door. (800 lbs)
