NVG 596

PEQ 15 700

M240B 86 M249 88 M320 80

M110A1 8 M870 80

Tripods 50 M4 100

Glock 26 15 Glock 19 15

Additional Riffles 300 Additional Pistols 300

Question 3: Does the unit require a welded cabinet to store the weapons? Welded will meet the DOD 5100- 76.M physical security requirement as the cabinets cannot be disassembled like 4-post boltless shelving can.

Answer: Racks and containers weighing less than 500 pounds (with weapons) shall be fastened to the structure, or fastened together in groups that have a total weight exceeding 500 pounds, with bolts and chains. Bolts used to secure racks must be spot-welded, peened, or otherwise secured to prevent easy removal.

Hinged locking bars for racks shall have the hinges welded, peened, or otherwise secured to prevent easy removal of arms

Question 4: Does the unit require weapon racks with locking doors?

Answer: The weapons racks we are requesting would roll and lock together when closed meaning that no doors are on the racks. If the vendor creates a concept with doors then the doors would need to be locked.

Weapon storage cabinets/racks must be bolted/secured to the floor/wall to prevent their easy removal.

Steel shackled padlocks must be used to secure cabinets and weapon racks (closed shackled steel padlocks will be used if possible; combination locks are not authorized).

Question 5: Does the unit require a fully slotted back panel inside of the weapon racks so components can be adjusted as needed in the future?

Answer: Yes, components would need to be able to adjust as the mission/weapons change in the future.

Question 6: Will the M4s be stored with side mounted optics? Typically, with flashlights, M4s require a minimum of 5.5" clear width to not collide with the next weapon over.

Answer: Weapons are not required to have optics mounted on the side however users can personalize their weapons configuration with authorized accessories. Weapons rack should have the ability to interchange and reconfigure components are weapons system change and accessories change.

Current accessories include PEQ-15’s, flashlights, different optics (M68s, ACOGs, DVOs). Below are the current authorized flashlights and pelican M6 flashlights are still authorized but production has stopped.

M300 Series, Surefire Scout Light, Weapon Light (Includes M300C, M300V) Tactical light kit M4/M4A1

Question 7: Does the unit require weapon holders to secure the front and back of each rifle buttstock? This prevents side to side movement of the weapon as it is stored How to store the weapons: There are many ways to store weapons in weapon racks. Most vendors store weapons in a linear line across each vertical weapon rack tier. The cabinets can include partial or fully slotted back panels to adjust barrel saddles, shelves and other components on the back panel as needed by the end user. Does the end user require individually adjustable barrel saddles to account for varying weapon heights throughout the system?

Answer: Weapon holders to secure the front and back of each rifle buttstock are not required. The holders would depend on the angle the weapons are positioned in the racks and what mechanism is used to secure the barrel/top of the weapon.

Adjustable barrel saddles would be needed to accommodate varying weapon heights throughout the system for all the rifles/machine guns/sniper rifles/shotguns.

Question 8: Do the barrel saddles require a retainer cord so the weapons cannot come out of the barrel saddle on their own?

Answer: Yes

Question 9: A partially slotted back panel requires the end user to purchase additional support rails or disassemble their existing support rails to relocate within the rack when they need to adjust the height settings. Does the end user require a fully slotted back panel inside of the weapon rack to allow for ease of interchangeable and reconfigurable components?

Answer: We want the ability to interchange and reconfigure components are weapons system change, equipment changes and our mission changes in the future.

Question 10: Does the armory want all the rifles in a straight line with all the carry handles out?

Answer: The M4 Carbine and M4A1 Carbine do not have carry handles. Weapons could face out or in the weapon racks. Rifles would need to stored vertically.

Question 11: Does the armory want the rifles alternating between carry handle out and carry handle to the back panel?

Answer: The M4 Carbine and M4A1 Carbine do not have carry handles. Weapons could face out or in the weapon racks. Weapons can alternate but are not required to alternate.
