About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for the B436 O'Malley Inn Demolition project. The solicitation covers a one-time demolition service with several key specifications: the project involves demolishing a building and associated infrastructure, with no additional funding modifications if hazardous materials are found. Contractors are expected to assume the presence of asbestos and have a plan for abatement as stated in the Statement of Work. The project requires specific demolition parameters, including maintaining the parking lot, demolishing sidewalks to the back of existing curbs, and focusing storm sewer demolition only on roof drains and associated storm piping to the main.

Key technical requirements include using 95% modified backfill with ±3% moisture, and the contractor may utilize small skid loaders for interior building demolition, subject to verification by a licensed structural engineer. No bid bonds are required, and all digitized as-built drawings will be issued to bidders. The government acknowledges potential inaccuracies in hazardous material assessments and advises contractors to calculate risk within their quotations. The existing trash enclosure will also be demolished, and trucks will need to process through the search pit during regular business hours.
