A A site visit was accomplished in connection with this solicitation, FA4600-09-B-0002, Repair E-Wing AHU in STRATCOM, Bldg 500. The site visit was held on 11 May 2009 at 0900. Prior to the site visit conclusion, all prospective bidders were afforded one last and final opportunity to ask questions.

B Below are a list of questions and answers from the prospective bidders, or issues brought up by the Government.

1. Can we work at night in the areas?

-YES-

2. Will the base provide the appropriate amount of escorts and their pay?

-YES-

3. There are some of the areas that have 'metal pan' ceilings. Is it your intent to have someone tear it all down and replace when that area is completely remodeled? --

--Contractor can remove the metal pan ceiling and leave it down except where the fire and ADT sensors are

4. Can the ceiling pads be left out at the end of each shift?

- Yes, but must be stored neatly

5. Who is responsible for covering up work areas and clean up each shift?

-Contractor-

6. Sheets 3 of 21 & 4 of 21, Note 4, Patching walls required by removal of the FCU. Do we just paint behind the removed FCU or do we need to paint the entire wall?

-Paint the area where the fancoil was removed and blend into the existing wall.

7. On walls that have vinly wall covering; do we just piece in new vinly wall covering (color to match as close as possible) or do we need to reapply vinly wall covering on the entire wall?

-Select a vinyl wall covering that matches (or matches close enough, government reserves the right to approve/disapprove selection) and patch in. Paint over it to match color if necessary.

8. Is there asbestos on the duct and piping in the mechanical room?

-None that we are aware of at this time

9. Do we need to work nights in secured areas?

–For bidding purposes estimate ~20% night work will be required.

10. Do ceiling pads need to be reinstalled at the end of each day in secured areas.

-See question 4 for answer

11. 1-E8 is not listed in the event schedule (need to do demo) When does this need to be done?

-1E8 is not occupied with personnel, this area can be used as 'float' work.

12. Room 1E9 is to have the metal pan ceiling left out for future replacement. Are the other offices with metal ceilings being replaced also?

– The Goodwill room (1E11) has a metal pan ceiling that will need to be removed and replaced with a drop ceiling. Install the drop ceiling at the existing height of the metal pan ceiling.

13. Can concrete wall cutting be done at any time?

– Concrete cutting is to be done at night.

14. Will temporary heating or cooling be required?
