About this file

This document is a memorandum outlining salient characteristics for a breathing air compressor system required by the 436th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, dated May 12, 2026. The fire department requires a National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1901 and 1989 current edition compliant, all-in-one breathing air system with the following specifications: 6000 psi storage capacity, 15-25 horsepower, three Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) fill stations accommodating cylinders up to 31 inches in overall length, a 100-foot high-pressure cabinet-enclosed hose reel, a sound-attenuating enclosure with slam-action latches, an automatic condensate drain system featuring a non-corrosive reservoir with integrated float sensor and automatic "Full" indication and compressor shutdown, and alarms for safety shut-off and emergency stop button functionality.

The Air Force has identified the Bauer brand compressor as the required equipment type and has an existing service contract (FA449725C0008) with the Fire Department for quarterly air purity checks and maintenance. All questions and concerns regarding this requirement should be directed to TSgt Grant Hadrava, NCOIC Logistics, 436 CES/CEF, at Grant.hadrava@us.af.mil or (302) 677-4414. Attachment 2a referenced in the document is blank and contains no substantive information.
