Question and Answer (Q&A)
GPH Audio/ Video Upgrade
Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst
Q: Do the Extron TLP Pro 1025T touch screen models need to be the NC or ‘No Camera’ version? The cost for the units without the cameras come at an increase in cost.
A: We want the ‘no camera’ version.
Q: What is the type of GFE PC Connectivity to system, HDMI or DisplayPort? Would we need to include adapters to integrate video into the system?
A: Both HDMI and Display port, yes you will need to include adapters.
Q: Can model or screen size of existing GFE Draper projection screen/s be provided, so we can properly verify throw distance and projector native resolution/aspect ratio?
A: The screen is a Draper Premier 2. The screen is approximately 16’h x 16’w (189” diagonal). The screen is 80 ft. from the projector.
Q: Can the model of (8) GFE speakers in the back of the auditorium be provided so we can verify proper amplification?
A: The (8) GFE speakers are model JBL 24CT.
Q: Is an additional interface for the curtain automation functionality required?
A: Yes, besides the control from the touch screen there is a wall plate control.
Q: Since there is only one (1) screen (shown during the site visit), what is the purpose of the second projector in the control room?
A: For back up and to display two screens side by side.
Q: Please verify the type of ceiling/ceilings (i.e. drop tile vs. hard coat) as this is important for any cabling runs that may need to be done above the ceilings.
A: The ceiling is open and has conduit running through it that is visible.
Q: Ceiling height – To ensure we have the correct equipment to work an install, what are the varying ceiling heights at the stage, control room, booth and mid auditorium?
A: Stage- 33 ft., control room- 13 ft., boot- 33 ft. and mid auditorium- 40 ft.
Q: Are there dry walls or solid walls where we might need to run wires, besides the existing conduit?
A: No, everything will go in cable racks and conduit.
Q: Please confirm that the wooden stage floor is hollow to allow wiring to the lectern. What is the floor surface from the stage to the monitor facing the stage?
A: The stage has a small door in the floor under the podium which accesses conduit running to the comm. room. The floor surface from the stage to the confidence monitors facing the stage is carpeting.
Q: Please confirm that existing cable paths may be utilized, Control Room to podium as example.
A: Yes
Q: What are the dimension of the GFE (Government Furnished Equipment) rack in, as example, U’s?
A: The racks are standard 19” in 44 U’s. The dimensions of the racks are 83”h x 25”d x 29”w
Q: Does the equipment rack and other AV locations have or will have adequate power?
A: Yes
Q: Scope states that the contractor is responsible for uninstalling and removal of existing equipment and cables. What is the distance from the stage to the control room?
A: 70 ft
Q: Can the work be completed during normal business hours?
A: Per SOW para. 6.4 Length of Project and Hours of Work:
“Work shall generally consist of a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0730-1700 EST, excluding federal holidays.”
Q: “EXTRON Part# 03-013-04 GUI Designer and GC Plus Custom Firm Fixed Price”
This line of item is not for sale per vendor’s agreement with Extron, Please provide clarification on its use and capability.
A: This line item (0013) on the solicitation will be removed. This is not an actual part that can be purchased. This is the program for the Extron TLP Pro 1025T touch panels.
The control system is covered in the SOW, Section 1.4 Required Services.
Please refer to SOW, para. 1.4 Required Services.
We are looking for the contractor to supply, install and program these touch panelsS as stated in the SOW. This specific part # is not called out in the SOW. This brand name part # is not specifically required.
Q: Can tools and product be left on site? Is there a locked room?
A: Yes, this is covered in the SOW, section 6.6 Government services.
Q: Is this a GSA contract proposal?
A: No.
Q: Is a Bid Bond needed?
A: Not Required per Solicitation
Q: Any Liquidated Damages?
A: No.
Q: Labor requirements: Union? Non-union? Prevailing Wage?
A: Will provide appropriate wage determination IAW DOL.
Q: We are a WBENC. How shall I present that?
A: Representation verified in SAM.gov
Q: What format would you like the proposal in? i.e., can we provide a line item proposal in the Visual Sound standard format? Is this an electronic submission or mailed? If electronic – to whom please?
A: Submission should be electronic utilizing the solicitation documentation provided on SAM. The submission should be sent to the POCs listed in SAM.
Q: What are the hours available for install?
A: Per SOW para. 6.4 Length of Project and Hours of Work:
Work shall generally consist of a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0730-1700 EST, excluding federal holidays
Q: Can we leave tools and product on site? Is there a locked room?
A: This auditorium is utilized often for training without locking doors. Recommend taking equipment at the end of the day.
Q: Who will dispose of the old equipment? You or vendor?
A: Per SOW para 1.14: The contractor shall remove all unused, obsolete and inoperable equipment from the control booth, auditorium, and podium. They shall provide this equipment to the government project manager for proper disposal. The contractor must dispose of all packing material used in the shipment of equipment and materials and/or waste incurred in the process of completing this requirement and abide by local and Government recycling and hazardous materials guidelines when disposing materials.
Per SOW para 6.6 B: The Government will provide “Disposal containers for contractor packaging material.
Q: What is the requested completion date?
A: Per SOW para. 6.2 The required delivery date is no later than (NLT) 30 days after contract date (ACD).
Q: What are payment terms? Will a down payment be provided to the winning vendor?
A: No
