IDIQ FOR CONSTRUCTION AND REPLACEMENT OF SANITARY, STORM, AND

WATER CONVEYANCE SYSTEMS AT JOINT BASE MDL

DIVISION 1

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

SECTION 01 11 00

SUMMARY OF WORK – 6500 Area

PART 1 GENERAL

1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES. The work for 6500 Area consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, fuel, supervision, and permits required to accomplish the work in accordance with the contract specifications, plans and the following.

2. LOCATION: The work under this project located in the 6500 Area of the Dix Portion of the Joint Base, to the West and South of Building 6501 (The Army Reserve

Mobilization Museum).

3. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: The Contractor shall provide all the necessary labor, equipment, materials, transportation and supervision to accomplish the following tasks as described herein and in project plans, specifications, attachments and other contract documents.

3.1 The work generally involves TV Inspection of approximately 750 LF of 6” VCP sanitary sewer lines; Replacement of approximately 750 LF of 6” VCP with approximately 750 LF of 6” HDPE Sanitary Sewer; Replacement of approximately 200 LF of 20” VCP Sanitary Sewer with approximately 200 LF of

20” HDPE Sanitary Sewer pipe; The replacement of Sanitary Sewer Manholes

(SMH) 0580 and 0581 with new pre-cast sanitary sewer manholes.

3.1.1 TV Inspection

(a) Prior to ordering any materials or performing any of the other work under this work order, contractor shall perform a TV Inspection of the 6” VCP sanitary sewer line starting at SMH 0580, through SMH

0581 toward building 6502.

(b) The intent of this inspection is to validate the condition of the sanitary sewer line, verify the alignment and terminus of the sanitary sewer line that goes North out of SMH 0581 toward building 6502.

(c) Locate and identify all lateral connections to the sanitary sewer.

(d) The final report shall include the TV inspection videos, written reports and survey information required by basic contract, specification section 01 01 00.

(e) The results of this TV Inspection will be used to validate the rest of the scope of work, and may result in changes to the scope of work depending on actual conditions identified by this inspection.

3.1.2 Replacement of the sanitary sewer between SMH 0580 and Building 6502

(a) This work element includes the replacement, by open cut, of approximately 750 LF of 6” VCP with approximately 750 LF of 6”

HDPE Sanitary Sewer between SMH 0580 and Building 6502.

(b) Based on current records, it is not clear if the sanitary sewer line that exits SMH 0580 to the North actually serves Building 6502, hence the TV inspection called for in paragraph 3.1.1. The results of the

TV inspection may modify this work item.

(c) Contractor shall bid the work assuming that the sanitary sewer line connects to Building 6502 and will be replaced in its entirety.

(d) Contractor shall reconnect all active lateral connections. Lateral connections that do not appear to be active may be abandoned after verification by, and with direction from, the QAR and Project

Engineer.

3.1.3 Replacement of the Sanitary Sewer between SMH 0580 and 0579

(a) This work element includes the replacement, by open cut, of approximately 200 LF of 20” VCP Sanitary Sewer with approximately 200 LF of 20” HDPE Sanitary Sewer pipe between

SMH 0580 and 0579.

(b) Contractor shall reconnect all active lateral connections. Lateral connections that do not appear to be active may be abandoned after verification by, and with direction from, the QAR and Project

Engineer.

3.1.4 Replace of Sanitary Sewer Manholes (SMH) 0580 and 0581

(a) The replacement of Sanitary Sewer Manholes (SMH) 0580 and 0581 with new pre-cast sanitary sewer manholes in accordance with the contract specifications and drawings.

(b) Contractor shall reconnect all active sewer main and lateral connections in the existing manholes. Connections that do not appear to be active may be abandoned after verification by, and with direction from, the QAR and Project Engineer.
