Terrorism is defined as: the unlawful use of violence or threat of violence to instill fear and coerce governments or societies. Terrorism is often motivated by religious, political, or other ideological beliefs and committed in the pursuit of goals that are usually political.
Antiterrorism is defined as: defensive measures used to reduce the vulnerability of individuals and property to terrorist acts, to include rapid containment by local military and civilian forces.
As a prelude to and during performance of any contract, it is critical that the Contractor be supportive of all Department of Defense (DoD) requirements to protect personnel and their families, installations, facilities, information, and other resources from terrorist acts. All Contractors and Sub-Contractors are responsible for ensuring their personnel receive Level I Antiterrorism Awareness training. Level I Antiterrorism Training resides on Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) and can be reached via the following site: https://jkodirect.jten.mil. Both CAC and non-CAC users can complete DoD approved Level I Antiterrorism Awareness Training. Enroll in Course # JS-US007-14 to receive the training.
During performance of work, personnel security and protection of resources is critical for the installation to maintain a safe work environment. Contractors and contracted personnel will be alert for any suspicious activities while on the installation. If any situation appears to be suspicious, immediate actions must be taken to properly notify the 87th Security Forces Squadron (SFS) Emergency Communication Center (ECC) at 609-754-6001.
Contractors must ensure that contracted personnel and vehicles are strictly controlled during performance of duty. For instance, Contractors shall use reasonable efforts to prevent any personnel or equipment from being placed in harm’s way or in a position that could aid or abet terrorists. Contractors are encouraged to contact the JB MDL Antiterrorism Office at 609-754-1397 for information regarding the installation Antiterrorism Program.
