About this file
This document contains questions and answers related to a federal contract opportunity for the prep and painting of the Heritage Park flagpole and concrete base at Little Rock Air Force Base.
The key details include:
- The flagpole is 100 ft tall and was installed in 2003, with no previous abrasive blasting or lead present.
- Containment will be required for abrasive blasting, and the contractor should follow manufacturer specifications for painting to provide a 12-month warranty.
- The work, including containment setup, abrasive blasting, priming, finish coating, and cleanup, is expected to be completed within 45 days, with the overall work to be finished within 90 days of contract award.
- The contractor will be able to pressure wash the concrete base prior to painting.
- Weekend work is allowed, and the government will take down the flag prior to the contractor's work.
- There are no preferred paint specifications or color codes, as the pole should be painted gloss white with a golden color at the top, and the concrete base should be painted with red, white, and blue sections.
