Text version

1. (Performance Work Statement) Under “Description of Services”, Paragraph 1.1 says that the scope is to “remove corroded piping and install new stainless-steel piping, check valves and unions at lift/pump station 129.” Under “Work Requirements”, Paragraph 3.1.1 says to “provide a complete pump station which would include all materials, installed and ready for operations.” Please clarify that the entire pump station is not to be replaced, and that it is the piping only that is required to be replaced. Broken piping, valves, and fitting are the only items that needs to be replaced. Please provide an operational pump station is what it should’ve read.

2. (Performance Work Statement) Under “Work Requirements”, Paragraph 3.2.2 says that the “Contractor must correct defects discovered to the satisfaction of the base and tests repeated at no expense of the government until equipment functions as intended and designed.” This statement seems to require the contractor to make repairs to the lift station pump and float system. Are there any documented issues, other than corroded piping that are known to Base personnel? No documented issues other than corroded piping, valves, and fittings. The defects are only referring to the work being done on the piping, valves, and fittings. If the piping, valves, or fittings are defected, meaning if the pipes, valves, or fittings have leaks or installed incorrectly, the contractor must fix it.

3. (Spec Section 33 32 16) This spec section is included with the bid documents. Once again, will pump replacement, float replacement, basin replacement, motor replacement, etc. be required for this project? No. Just piping, valves, and fittings are needing the be replaced.

4. Are they going to pump out the lift station basin prior to our work beginning or will we be required to pump? The plumbing shop will be pumping out the lift station prior to work starting.
