F2S3374059AC02-FY24 FIBER to BLDGS 714, 718 and 846 Questions (Posed from previous solicitation) and Answers By: SSgt Rodgers

· How are we to get from MH-43B to BLDG 846?

Fiber will be direct buried from MH-43B to newly installed 2” duct across roadway until reaching B846. (see SOO, p.28)

· Is there any max-cell that needs to be installed for this project?

Per the SOO. The new conduit being installed from MH-43A to HH-43C the contractor will be responsible to provide and also install MaxCell.

For the rest of the run. If a section along the route does not have MaxCell or the MaxCell is all already in use. 19CS will provide the MaxCell for the contractor to run.

· Is there a specific brand of fiber/enclosures/splice trays you would prefer? I noticed the MDF in Building 988 appears to have Panduit LIU rack-mount Fiber Enclosures. Are you wanting to stick with Panduit Optical Fiber Products on this bid? (Judging by the pictures of the current MDF racks and enclosures on Page 32 of the SOO. Please correct me if I am mistaken on that).

No preference if govt standards are met.

· (Depending on the answer given above): Besides Panduit, would you be open to other product suggestions that fall in line with the Buy American Act? (The main reason I'm asking is because your SOO specifically calls out 36-strand fiber from the MDF to MH/HH 43A, and Panduit no longer makes a 36-strand outdoor SM OS2 fiber.)

Yes.

· Would you prefer splice trays and fusion spliced pig tails, or cassettes, when terminating the fiber in the buildings?

Our preference are cassettes.

· Is the contractor providing patch cords in their bids for connectivity, or will that be covered/provided by the 19 CES team?

Patch cords are not a requirement.
