About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for solicitation FA442726Q1010, a Combined Synopsis Solicitation issued by Travis Air Force Base for CT periodic maintenance services dated 01/30/2026. The document does not address specific response dates, award dates, or pricing terms, as it only clarifies technical and operational requirements through contractor inquiries.

The solicitation involves maintenance services for a Comet (YXLON) Model FF85 CT scanner system located in Building 803 at Travis Air Force Base. The specific equipment details include serial number C.1210003140 with a manufacture date of September 2021. Emergency troubleshooting visits are limited to two per year and are intended to cover diagnostics and minor corrective actions necessary to restore operation, with more extensive corrective maintenance such as major component replacement or non-routine repairs requiring separate Government authorization. The contractor must respond to emergency troubleshooting requests on a case-by-case basis coordinated with the designated Point of Contact, with an expectation that the contractor shall be on-site no later than 48 hours after an emergency request is placed. The document clarifies that software issues have historically required code rewrites and system updates to ensure the machine functions and aligns properly.

Travis Air Force Base Questions & Answers

01/30/2026

Q: What is the manufacturer and model number of the CT Scanner?

A: Comet (YXLON) Model: FF85

Q: System Identification: The SOW references a single FF85 CT system located in Building

803. To support accurate pricing and compatibility verification, can the Government confirm whether the serial number and approximate manufacture year of the FF85 CT system may be provided pre-award, or if this information will be furnished post-award?

A: S/N: C.1210003140 Manufacture on September 2021.

Q: Emergency Troubleshooting Visits – Scope Clarification: The SOW includes two (2) emergency troubleshooting visits per year. For clarification of scope, are these visits intended to cover diagnostics and minor corrective actions necessary to restore operation, with more extensive corrective maintenance (e.g., major component replacement or non-routine repairs) subject to separate Government authorization outside the defined requirement?

A: That is correct; software has had many issues in the past where they would need to rewrite code and update for the machine to work and align properly.

Q: Emergency Response Expectations: Is there a required response timeframe for emergency troubleshooting visits, or will response timing be coordinated on a case-by-case basis with the COR?

A: The Response time will be on a case-by-case basis and will be coordinated with Point of Contact (identified after award). However, the expectation is that the contractor shall be on the worksite no later than 48 hours after an emergency request is placed.
