About this file
This document is a Questions & Answers (Q&A) Amendment 01 for Solicitation FA442725Q1125, focusing on a hoist assembly for an existing gantry system. The key details include a requirement for an electric hoist with an 8-ton load capacity and a minimum 15-foot chain/cable length. The existing gantry is 15 feet wide, manually operated, with a height range between 11 and 16 feet, and features a bridge I-beam system with extendable legs and manual wheels. Vendors are specifically requested to provide only the hoist assembly that will bolt onto the current gantry, with flexibility on hoist type (electric chain or wire rope) as long as it meets the load and lift requirements.
The Q&A document clarifies several technical specifications, including that the gantry is manually pushed and positioned, has no motorized wheels, and does not include a boom. The potential overall height of approximately 17'-6" for the hoist and gantry system was confirmed as acceptable, with the highest gantry height being 16 feet. Potential vendors are advised to reference page 7 of an additional spec attachment for more detailed specifications about the existing gantry model.

Questions & Answers
Amendment 01
Q1: It appears there may be a span missing in the provided specifications/drawings — can you confirm?
A1: I’m assuming span you mean the width of our gantry that we are looking to this hoist for. The gantry is 15 feet wide.
Q2: Please confirm span of gantry crane if needed. (Usable span needed or overall width)
A2: Gantry is 15 feet wide
Q3: Will the gantry be manual or motorized?
A3: The Gantry itself is on wheels and is manually pushed and rolled around into needed positions.
Q4: Is this requirement for a Hoist or a Gantry Crane System?
A4: We are requesting for the hoist assembly only that will bolt on to our current Gantry. We are NOT requesting both gantry and hoist assembly
Q5: If providing the crane, does it matter if the hoist is electric chain or wire rope? Since it’s motorized trolley, pricing will be close and we will go with the most economical and best lead time.
A5: The hoist needs to be electric. Chain or wire is perfectly acceptable as long as it meets the 8 Ton load requirement.
Q6: Is this Gantry going to be push/pull or are the wheels to be motorized?
A6: The Gantry we currently have that the hoist will be used on is a manual push/pull. The wheels are not motorized.
Q7: Is 15 Feet the hook height or is this the systems height limit?
A7: 15 feet would be the length of the chain or cable from the hoist to the hook. 15ft is the minimum we need. A longer length is completely fine.
Q8: How long is the boom on the Gantry?
A8: Our Gantry does not have a boom. We have a bridge I beam system with extendable legs on each side with manual wheel attached at the bottom to position the gantry in desired locations. The lowest high the gantry is 11ft and the highest is 16 ft.
Q9: 15’ lift capability- I assume this means that we want at least 15’ from bottom hook of the hoist to floor. Accounting for the hoist headroom, this would mean the gantry overall height could be approximately 17’-6”. Please confirm this would be fine and any overall height maximum concerns.
A9: The Hight should be fine as the highest the gantry will go is 16ft.
The specs for existing model gantry is on page 7 of the added spec attachment on the bottom of the chart.
