About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) responses document for solicitation FA442725Q1099 addressing contractor questions about a mold abatement project at Building 812 on Travis Air Force Base. The project requires a contractor to provide all labor, equipment, and materials to remove approximately 800 square feet of mold, replace insulation, drywall, texture, prime, paint, and seal the affected area. The contractor is responsible for both deconstruction and reconstruction of any materials needed for proper room repair.
This is a brand-new project with no incumbent contractor, and no asbestos survey is available due to the building's age. The government has provided photos of the affected areas showing visible mold growth but does not have exact room dimensions, as personnel avoid the space due to extensive mold contamination. The work area contains pipes and utilities that may need to be worked around or removed during remediation. No as-built drawings are available for the project, and contractors must rely on the Statement of Work for scope details and the provided photographs for visual assessment of the affected areas.

FA442725Q1099 B812 Mold Abatement RFIs
1. I was wondering if the contractor was responsible for rebuilding the dry wall after its deconstruction.
A: Yes, we are requiring the contractor to deconstruct and reconstruct anything needed to repair the room properly. IAW PWS 3.1 “The contractor will provide all labor, equipment and materials to remove approximately total of 800 square feet mold, replace insulation, drywall, texture, prime, paint and seals the area.”
2. Is there any incumbent/recompete or this is a brand-new project?
We would like to know if this is a brand new contract OR if there is (was) an incumbent performing these services. If not brand new, could you please provide the current / previous contract number?
A: This is a brand new project.
3. I wanted to inquire if an Asbestos survey has been conducted within the affected area?
Is there an asbestos survey available?
We were wondering if there are any testing reports available that confirm whether the affected drywall is asbestos containing.
A: An asbestos survey is not available due to the age of the building.
4. Will you be able to provide a scope of work takeoff and a set of plans? Are any photos available of the affected areas?
A: Please see photos on page 2 & 3 below. Please review the Statement of Work for the scope of work. There are no as-builts for this project.
5. Could you provide any available photos of the affected areas, as well as room dimensions if possible. From the report, I see that two walls were sampled and confirmed for growth, but I'd like to better understand the full extent of the issue. Visuals would also help us identify any pipes or utilities we may need to work around during the remediation process.
A: Please see photos on page 2 & 3 below. There are pipes and utility work that may need to be worked around and or removed in order to properly rectify this issue. We don’t have exact dimensions at this time and do our best to stay out of that room due to the amount of mold growth that is visible.
