FA442725Q1086 – HEAVY SCALE CALIBRATION SERVICES – TRAVIS AFB, CA
QUESTION ANSWER
Customer will assist with transportation of test weights for scales inside buildings and scales located in hard to reach areas?
Contractor shall be self-supporting.
What will the maximum amount of test weight needed per individual scale?
Scales are typically calibrated up to 2/3 of the scale’s max capacity but for example a 60K scale calibration could be accomplished with a single 1000 LBS weight and the use of bulk weight. This method with 1000 LBS of calibrated weight would take considerably longer. It is up to the contractor to do the calibrations in an efficient and timely manner with the amount of testing weight they deem they need.
What will be the +/- tolerance for each individual scale?
Our variances fall within +/- 2% of the calibrated capacity.
On the contract it states that the service will take roughly 2 - 3 days to complete, we anticipate a 3 - 4 days for this service.
Will that cause an issue? Do we have a certain time frame to complete the service by?
3-4 days is fine for the service alone considering the number of scales. The delivering of the certificate/report of calibration in a timely manner is an important deliverable to keep in mind.
What percentage/lbs of the scale capacity do you want each scale calibrated at?
Typically calibrated up to 2/3 of scale’s max capacity.
What percentage/lbs of the scale capacity is required check each corner on the scales?
The four corners test is usually 20% of the calibrated weight.
Will this service be subject to prevailing wage requirements?
This contract will be subject to the wages in the Service Contract Act Wage Determination #: 2015-5655 for Solano County.
